PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION DISCOVERY

The concept of humanism is  attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. This  reflects my philosophy of education and my teaching style. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of solving human problems. Throughout my education experience I have been shaped to learn a specific way and with that way I have internally stored it and turned it into the way I want to teach others. I am a high school student , learning how to become a teacher, and the way I will teach is child centered with creativity and interactions with other. I believe that was my surrounding as a child. This belief reminds me of a dandelion

Dandelions are considered as a weed even with its vibrant appearance. They began as a small seed from another dandelion that has been blown away by the wind. The seed is planted into the ground and begins to grow and becomes its vibrant presence with seeds surrounding the center. The seed all interact with each other in its close proximity.  The seed that began this all is now the center of all the new seedlings and help the growth of the new seeds. But once the seed are read the wind will take them away, and let them grow into the weed they are. I believe my teaching style will become a dandelion where I will focus on class interactions and create an atmosphere for individual growth of creativity and let them make their own decisions.

My beliefs as a person is that everyone is internally good. I also believe that people do make mistakes because we are human and we aren't perfect which is why I also believe that everyone deserves a second chance. This correlates to my way of teaching because it surrounds child centered and having the beliefs that kids and sibling will make mistakes but they will also learn from it. Humanism also goes into the unlimited growth of a student and it just depends on the atmosphere they were given. There is a natural tendency for people to learn, which will flourish if nourishing, encouraging environments are provided. “The Four characteristic of humanism are curiosity, a free mind, belief in good taste, and belief in the human race”

(-E.M. Forster).
